April 2021 Home Prices in San Diego County

Home sales are still strong in San Diego. According to the San Diego Association of Realtors April Report, the median home price in San Diego County was up 24.4% over the previous year at $840,000 for detached, single-family homes. Condos were up 23.1% over the previous year at $530,000.


April 2021 Days on Market Until Sale in San Diego County

Days on the market until sale for April 2021 continued at record low levels. It was 20 days on the market for single-family detached homes compared to 21 days in March, and 37 days in May 2020. For condos and duplexes it was 20 days in April vs. 24 days in March, and 26 days in May 2020.


Mortgage Rate Expectations for May in San Diego

According to data from Freddie Mac released on May 6th, the 30 years fixed-rate mortgage stood at 2.96%. Rates continue to remain low, but some buyers are being priced out of the market as home prices continue to climb.

According to TJ Bruyere of Prosperity Home Mortgage “inventory and interest rates remain low, as the economy picks up and we move into summer, we expect some relief for buyers as more homes should come onto the market.”
